MYTH OF THE OSTRICH (2)_edited_edited_ed

What begins as a social call quickly - and hilariously - takes a bizarre turn. What follows is a wildly unpredictable afternoon with life-altering consequences. "Delivers more consistent laughs than I've had in a long time" - CBC

IN THE MEDIA...

WEST's "Myth of the Ostrich" reviewed in Burlington Local News

"...an outrageously funny play that relies on social etiquette and the concept of what constitutes proper adult behaviour being completely unravelled at the seams for its humour."

Kimberly’s favourite roles include Mrs. Bennett (Pride and Prejudice), Hilda (Hilda’s Yard), Mrs. Van Daan (Diary of Anne Frank), and M’Lynn (Steel Magnolias). Kimberly lives at home with her husband, two dogs, and her cat. Many thanks to the dedicated cast and crew, who all worked tirelessly to bring the production to life. (You were NEVER nick-namable … /H2H).

CAST

Deb Dagenais
HOLLY

Deb has had the very good fortune of being able to walk the boards here at West Plains United before (Jenny's House of Joy), as well as many theatres across the Hamilton and Halton areas. She was last seen as Sonia in Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike in Waterdown this past spring.

Reprising her role for WEST as Holly in Myth has been a fun ride with her amazing co-actors. What a joy to be able to sink our teeth in even deeper. The angst, fear and joy that mothering brings, whether we mother a baby, teenager, adult child or each other, is universal. Throw in surprise visits, twists and turns and we can laugh out loud at our challenges. Heads up and see what's actually going on. Thank you, Peter, for being my real-life parenting partner.

Kimberly Jonasson
Cheryl

This is Kimberly's third time playing Cheryl, and she continues to discover new sides of this wonderful character.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated cast and crew for their hard work in bringing this production to life.

And, as always, special thanks, hugs and many kisses to Kimberly's loving and endlessly supportive husband. (You were NEVER nick-nameable .../H2H).

Christine Ann Marchetti
PAM

Christine is excited to reprise the role of Pam for a third time alongside two talented women she has the good fortune to call friends. She last performed with Dundas Little Theatre (May 2026) in Late Company as Tamara. In 2025 she performed at Theatre Burlington in Timepiece (Karla) and Bluebirds (Maggie) as well as reprising Pam in WEST’s Myth.  Thank you to Laura, Lawrence, Charles (script assistant) and WEST.  Big love to Jason, Andrew & Charles.

AUDIENCE REVIEWS

My 86 year old mother and I went to see “The Myth of the Ostrich” tonight at the Oakville Centre of Performing Arts. I just wanted to let you know that we both LOVED it!  The actors were excellent and absolutely nailed their characters. They were all so believable and true. It was funny, awkward (in the best way possible), poignant and just plain fun. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
